theartistsagency offers continuing critical and practical support, production, advice and guidance on projects and career development, advocacy to promote individual artist's interests, marketing and PR as required and where agreed, speculative development of artist projects.

 

Mark Segal has over 40 years experience working across the public visual arts sector. He worked across various institutions including Towner, The Cut Gallery and South Hill Park Arts Centre before leading ArtSway between 1999 and 2011 including four iterations of ArtSway's New Forest Pavilions at the Venice Biennale (2005 - 2011) featuring artists including Emilia Telese, Gayle Chong Kwan, Simon Faithfull, Hew Lock, Sophie Ricketts, Beate Gütschow and Anne Hardy. He started theartistsagency in 2012 and has supported projects including those by Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva's commissions for the Venice Biennale in 2013 (representing North Macedonia) and 2015 (Pavilion of the Holy See); Stephen Turner's Exbury Egg (2012 - 2026); Gayle Chong Kwan's People's Forest (William Morris Gallery & Barbican, 2018); Alice Kettle's Thread Bearing Witness (the Whitworth, 2018); Laura Daly's The Storm Cone (University of Salford and Metal, 2024) and Permindar Kaur's Nothing is Fixed (John Hansard Gallery, 2024) and Dread Naught (Wolverhampton Art Gallery, 2026). He's developed, supported and curated projects with artists including Nathaniel Mellors, Jordan Baseman, Kate Davis, Stephen Farthing, Melanie Manchot, Frank Bowling, Phyllida Barlow and many others. He continues to work with Terry Smith on Venice Agendas.
