Gary Clough is a practicing fine artist whose work is rooted in the traditions and cross-disciplinary nature of sculpture and drawing. Having trained as a stone carver, Clough’s current practice employs an interdisciplinary approach spanning drawing, sculpture, animation and site-specific installation.

A graduate of University of Creative Arts and the Royal College of Art he has exhibited across the UK, Europe, US and China from Tate St Ives to The Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing. He was Henry Moore Foundation Sculpture Fellow at Falmouth College of Arts (1994 – 1996) and awarded a bursary from the Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1996. His recent solo exhibition, Trace Engines, presented new drawings and prints at Rochester Art Gallery, Kent (2016-17). A further solo show Port of Entry presented a range of new drawings, prints and embroidery exploring architectural space and geographical locations was shown at Sun Pier House Gallery, Chatham, Kent (2018).

Fictions, a two person show with Isobel Young at The Cello Factory (12 February - 15 February 2020), London further develops these interests.

Gary is currently Senior Tutor and Academic Lead, Graduate Diploma in Art and Design at the Royal College of Arts.
